Welcome to Eco-Chic with Amy!

My name is Dr. V. I am the instructor for this course and the administrator for this blog. Steve is the TA/intern for this course and will also be posting here.

There are 6 possible types of posts on my blog. They include:

If you notice at the bottom of this post, the categories will be listed as labels. This post is labeled with all six kinds of posts. You will also see the number of each kind of post in my Labels Gadget in the sidebar. All post titles from now on will begin with one of the categories above.

WELCOME LINKY PARTY INSTRUCTIONS

You are going to be participating in a linky party every Wednesday here on Eco-Chic with Amy. A linky party is when a blog posts about a specific topic. Other blogs post about that topic and everyone adds their permalink to the party guest list. (Read here to understand the difference between a main URL and a permalink.) We are using a linky host called MckLinky. Follow these instructions to join the party.

1. Start by posting your introductory post on your blog according to the instructions provided on the course calendar.
2. AFTER the introductory post is completed, join the party below by clicking the "You are next" link.
3. For the title, enter "Your blog name (Introductory Post)." Example: Eco-Chic with Amy (Introductory Post).
4. For the link URL, add the permalink to your introductory post. Example: http://ecochicwithamy.blogspot.com/2009/09/welcome-to-eco-chic-with-amy.html. NOTE: To get the permalink for your introductory post, go to the main page of your blog. Click on the title of the post for which you need a permalink. Watch the URL at the top of the window change from the main URL to the permalink (or link URL) for that post. Copy the permalink and paste it where it asks for the link URL.
5. Select "enter your link" and you will return to this blog post and should see your entry listed below. Click on it to make sure it takes you to the specific post.
6. Return to your blog. Click "edit posts" and select "edit" next to the introductory post.
7. Add the following text at the bottom of your post: "Blogged for the Welcome Linky Party hosted by Amy@Eco-Chic with Amy." Highlight the "Welcome Linky Party" and insert the permalink to this party post. Then highlight the "Amy@Eco-Chic with Amy" and insert the main URL to this blog.
8. Select orange "Publish Post" button at the bottom of the window to publish the changes.
9. Also leave a comment on this post. Write a welcoming comment and then identify any specific questions you have about blogging so far.
10. Visit the course calendar (under blog requirements) to see who is in your web group. Visit their blogs and leave comments for them as well.
